Notre-Dame Companion

Practical information

What to bring, what to expect at security, dress guidance, and accessibility.

Notre-Dame is an active place of worship that welcomes tens of thousands of visitors a day, so a little preparation goes a long way. Entry is through a security check on the forecourt; once inside, the visit flows one way around the nave and choir.

Opening hours can change with services and special events — your access page always shows the practical details that matter for your reserved time.

What to bring

  • Your phone with the QR access page (and a screenshot, just in case)
  • A valid ID for each adult — names should match the reservation
  • A small bag only — large luggage is not allowed
  • Headphones for the audio companion
  • A light scarf or layer: the interior stays cool even in summer
  • Water for the queue in warm months (not consumed inside)
